Security forces in Pakistan have carried out a series of successful intelligence based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in the killing of twenty three militants linked to the Indian sponsored group known as Fitna al Khwarij. According to a statement issued by the ISPR, the operations were launched after reports of militant presence in multiple districts.

The first operation took place in Bajaur, where security forces acted on precise intelligence and engaged a location believed to be used by the group. Troops responded swiftly and effectively, killing eleven militants during the exchange, including a key leader identified as Sajjad Abuzar. The ISPR said that the operation prevented a potential threat from growing in the area and helped disrupt the activities of the network.

In a separate intelligence led operation carried out in Bannu district, security forces encountered another cluster of militants. Twelve individuals belonging to the same group were neutralized during the engagement. Officials reported that the operation was conducted with careful coordination and based on verified information regarding the group’s movements.

Sanitization efforts are currently underway in both districts to ensure that no remaining militants are hiding in nearby areas. Authorities said these follow up activities are essential to secure the region and prevent militants from re establishing their presence.

The ISPR emphasized that these operations form part of the broader counter terrorism strategy under Azm e Istehkam, a vision approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan. The initiative aims to eliminate all forms of foreign sponsored terrorism and strengthen internal security. Security forces and law enforcement agencies are continuing the campaign with full commitment as they work to dismantle hostile networks operating across the country.

These most recent successes come after earlier operations on November fifteen and sixteen, when security forces killed fifteen militants in two separate engagements in Kulachi, Dera Ismail Khan and in Datta Khel, North Waziristan. In the Kulachi operation, troops acted on intelligence and surrounded a location believed to be hosting militants. Ten individuals, including the group’s ring leader Alam Mehsud, were killed during the exchange.

Later, in another intelligence based operation in Datta Khel, five more militants were neutralized. The ISPR noted that each operation was carried out based on credible intelligence and reflects the unwavering resolve of security forces in tackling threats posed by armed groups.

Officials say the campaign will continue until all foreign backed and hostile elements are removed, and the region is fully stabilized. Security forces reaffirmed their determination to ensure lasting peace and safeguard communities across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
